Opportunity for a contemporary ICT professional to join a large community focused organisation in an influential, strategic role.

An opportunity now exists for an experienced Manager ICT to join their team on a 5-year, fixed term contract basis.

The Role

Reporting to the Director Corporate, you’ll manage and oversee Business Systems, Service Delivery, Business Partnering & Projects. Your duties will include:

  • Developing and implementing medium to long-term ICT strategies that align with council’s priorities, ensuring technology services enable business efficiency and innovation
  • Monitoring industry trends and best practices to stay ahead of the curve on emerging technologies and new ICT methodologies
  • Leading the ongoing management and optimisation of the OneCouncil Workplan, ensuring a structured approach to continuous improvement across the TechnologyOne ERP system
  • Driving enhancements that maximise functionality, user experience, and business outcomes while aligning with organisational priorities
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to identify, prioritise, and implement system improvements, ensuring effective governance, resource allocation, and benefits realisation
  • Establishing, maintaining, and communicate ICT policies, standards, and frameworks that support operational excellence, cybersecurity, and compliance with legislative requirements
  • Developing and overseeing cybersecurity strategies, frameworks, and risk management practices to safeguard Council’s digital assets, mitigate threats, and ensure compliance with security standards
  • Proactively monitor risks, implementing incident response protocols, and fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness across the organisation
  • Ensuring ICT infrastructure, systems, and services are reliable, secure, and optimised, and ensuring effective backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
  • Overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of ICT projects, driving digital transformation and service improvements across the organisation
  • Fostering a high-performing, values-driven team culture that supports professional growth, accountability, and collaboration (4x direct reports and 17x indirect reports)
  • Managing ICT budgets effectively, ensuring the efficient allocation of financial and human resources to deliver maximum value

About You

  • Strong background in leading and driving transformation along with a good understanding of change methodologies
  • Proven experience communicating change and transformational impacts to key stakeholders and managing the rollout of significant projects
  • Excellent leadership capabilities and previous experience overseeing a large team or portfolio in a dynamic and diverse environment
  • Strategic thinker and the ability to collaborate extensively across leadership and management to come up with proactive and reactive solutions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to consult, negotiate, partner and work together with all employees 

Whilst experience working in local, state or federal government will be highly regarded, it is not essential and candidates from other sectors are strongly encouraged to apply
