Recognised as one of South Australia’s premier Council’s, the City of Mitcham is inviting applications for the position of Customer Communications Officer from individuals who are collaborative, customer focused, and team orientated.
 
About the Role
Reporting to the Team Leader Customer Communications, the Customer Communications Officer is a diverse and interesting role where no two days are the same! Ensuring a positive and responsive customer experience is a key focus of this role, and we are seeking an individual who is passionate about achieving great results for our community members.
Rotation throughout the Customer Contact team will see you multi-tasking in this fast-paced environment and drawing upon your skills and experience to deliver a high standard of customer service for our internal and external customers over the phone, email and face-to-face on the front counter. You will also support information management and general administrative duties as part of this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactive and reactive communication with customers through a variety of channels
  • Case management of customer enquiries/requests
  • Respond positively to all requests for customer service, including phone calls, face to face enquiries and customer requests, emails and other digital engagement
  • A range of administrative tasks, including (but not limited to):
    • Information management;
    • Undertake Section 7 Searches under the Land and Business (Sale and Conveyancing) Act, including undertaking research on Development Applications to ensure information provided is accurate and answering enquiries from external and internal stakeholders;
    • Undertake Request to View Requests of Development Applications;
    • Maintenance of public displays and public information;
    • Data entry and typing; and
    • Cash handling.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and change initiatives.

  
About You
You have experience working in a customer centric environment, are proficient with technology and systems and enjoy working as part of a cohesive team.

  • Self-motivated with a continuous learning mindset.
  • Excellent verbal, written and numerical skills.
  • Relationship and outcome focused.

An attractive salary of between $73,848 – $88,524, plus superannuation will be negotiated with the successful candidate based on their skills and experience.
Other benefits such as flexitime and additional leave days are also included as part of this full-time, 12-month contract.
